Pregnancy update: I had my follow-up ultrasound last week with the head doctor and my cervix was actually shorter. It had been 2.5cm the previous week, which is right on the border of being considered “short”, and last week it was 2.2cm. It was opened. Luckily, the doctor wasn’t too worried because I don’t have a history of pre-term labor, but still, they will need to monitor and I will need to take it as easy as possible. They gave me a progesterone shot in my tushy bum and told me to come back every week. Basically the plan is to have the shot once a week, and have continued ultrasounds each week to measure my cervix and monitor. I went back today and I’m happy to report that my cervix measured 3cm, which is completely normal. This means the hormones are helpful and/or it’s fluctuating a bit and it’s in the right direction. I will continue to go each week for my progesterone shot and I’m going to have another ultrasound in two weeks. We will have to keep doing this until I’m 37 weeks. So, let’s do this. 11 more weeks to go until I’m at least in the “range of normal”.
Otherwise, she is looking really great and I’m feeling good. This is getting real people!
