This is what I peeked in to find during Day 1 in his toddler bed. It wound up being an over 3 hour nap! He has been doing amazingly well in his new big boy bed and seems to have really taken well to the change. We (well, Grandpa Joe) even took apart the crib yesterday and packed it up for storage in Cleveland. Theo didn’t seem to really bat an eyelash about it. I really felt that he was ready to be done with the crib. For now, we have the bed right next to our bed, instead of in the space where his crib was. I’m not sure if we will leave it there permanently… or, at least until we move and he has his own room. He has woken up during the night and crawled into our bed saying, “hi”, and promptly falling back to sleep. Jay was able to transfer him back into his bed the first night and I think the next two he just stayed with us. Not sure how that will get resolved but it’s nice to not have to actually get up and bring him into our bed as we were doing most nights anyhow. He does it himself now. Mostly I’m glad he is happy and secure napping and going to bed, as normal. I have to think it’s due in part to the fact that he has a sound routine and he is typically really ready for his nap, or bedtime, because of this. Here is the bed on it’s own…
Don’t be alarmed by the fact that there is a radiator right next to his bed. We never even turn it on in the winter because it gets so hot in here. If we do, we will obviously be moving the little guy back to where his crib used to be. Happy sleeping (we hope)!
